hide yo kids, hide yo wives...

sometimes famous people come to my office. and sometimes i get my picture taken with them. and sometimes i just want to TELL EVERYONE.

toy boy

me (talking to husband): "the heber creeper is expensive."
andrew (9-year-old brother): "what's the heber creeper?"
me: "it's a train in heber."
andrew: "oh. i thought it was a murderer."

sunset in july

you know you have good car insurance when you get this email on your birthday:

i suppose i should mention that i also received a happy birthday note from the BYU alumni association.
however, theirs wasn't nearly as festive.
(or wanted)

hold up my heart

highlight of my day yesterday:

i met brooke white (from american idol), and we have the same tiffany wedding ring.

"hey brooke," i said, "we're ring twins."
"we totally are!" then she paused. "except yours is bigger."

cha-ching. my rock is bigger than a celebrity's.
... quite a bit bigger.

very last first time

these kids sing on the record label i work for. they're fantastic! the oldest (tel) is 18, and tiann and mady are 14 and 13. (or is it 15 and 14? i can never remember).

let my love open the door

my latest YouTube favorite.

hung up

four weeks.

it's official. i have been hiccuping for four weeks. mind you, it's just about one hiccup an hour. but it's usually a ginormous one.

i think i should invite myself onto some talk show.

and in an effort to shamelessly promote my apartment... click here.

because

even though my blog is far from what i'd call the typical "mormon mommy blog," i still thought this was a great read.

read: Why I can't stop reading Mormon housewife blogs

mad world

a well-written article that made me think. it's sad, however, that the author only felt accepted in society by giving up her standards and conforming to the world.

read single, female, mormon, alone

you might think

got a haircut today... a pretty dramatic one.

what do you think?

you're not my god

this semester i've done something unusual:
bought a textbook i think i'll actually read and enjoy.
i've come to this conclusion purely based on the chapter headings. for example:

"Chapter 4 - Like a Sermon: Popular Religion in Madonna Videos"
"Chapter 8 - It's about Faith in Our Future: Star Trek Fandom as Cultural Religion"

yup. sounds good. this is useful knowledge.
